Amongst rustling grasses and whispering petals lay a house of yellow and green.

Far from the bustling smoke, the charming bespoke stood tall, proud and lean.

Inside the house lived 7 children and their parents abounding in mirth.

One of the children was silent, always thinking, since the day of her birth.

She chose to express her feelings in words,

Upon paper, in cupboards, or whispered to birds.

She was different and always so silently so,

Devouring books quick as bower birds go.

Then one fateful day she discovered,

That her words had power upon friend, foe and lover.

So she set out upon her life's title mission,

To change the world, bring it into submission.

With love and the clanking of microphones old,

The world would listen to the silent girl, now bold.

Growing up as one of seven children, STO/NES was never one to vie for attention. Instead, she turned to writing to confide her deepest

thoughts and emotions.

Cut to decades later, and STO/NES makes her artistic debut with the stunning, soul-wrenching folkpop track ‘Singular Longing’, a sparse

acoustic track with agonising vocals articulating the pain of an unbalanced relationship. ‘Singular Longing’ has since amassed over 14,000

streams on Spotify, and been played on radio overseas. Triple J’s Declan Byrne called it “Impassioned, deep, emotional,” while fellow Triple J

presenter Ash McGregor called it “Enchanting, honest, heartbreaking.”

During the covid uncertainty, STO/NES began writing her first EP, ‘Shake The Sky’, a folk pop record detailing her faith journey, which she

co-produced with ARIA winner Peter Holz (Eskimo Joe, Vance Joy). The jazz infused ‘Pineapple’ proved popular with fans, with the EP

garnering almost 63,000 streams to date on Spotify alone.

STO/NES’ heartfelt writing struck up many friendships, and she played onstage with Red Wiggle Murray Cooke’s band The Soul Movers in

early 2024.

STO/NES has commenced writing her debut album, covering themes of love, hope and celebration, with the first taste of the album, ‘Forever

and Always’, released in September 2024.
